The Simpsons Christmas Theme is available in two versions, the Windows and the Mac compatible versions. A Windows program is required to be downloaded. After installation, the user can choose which character they would like to add to their desktop wallpaper and the background of their primary system tray using the supplied icons. The Simpsons desktop wallpaper and background can be changed using the control keys and the mouse buttons. When a new desktop icon is to be added, this is done by clicking on the corresponding icon, then choosing "Add".
The second option for the user who wishes to have the Simpsons Christmas Theme is to download the Mac compatible version of the application. The Mac operating system is similar to the Windows OS. The application and all its saved files can be transferred to the Macintosh computer by copying the entire application. To have the best result, a copy of the original software CD should also be made.
A free 30 day trial period is offered to the users of the application who register to receive updates about the software. The users can test the application for one month by downloading the free version first and registering to receive free updates. Then they can select save as option and upload the selected files to their desktop.
